Home Alone 2, Lost In New York.  Two versions here.  One has a watermark in the middle of it throughout the entire movie which can be very annoying.  The other does not but will not open to full screen and give a clear picture.  So we are giving you a choice in which one to watch.  This is it for us until after Christmas.  We are taking the rest of the time off and will not be posting anything else until Thursday, the day after Christmas so Merry Christmas one and all.  We hope you have a spectacular time and wish that Santa brings you everything you wanted and then some.

Home Alone, Classic Christmas Movie, Full Length

Cover of "Home Alone"

We have been seeing a number of issues while porting in videos onto this site and it has prevented us from being able to port a good number of videos onto here.  Turns out with all the issues surrounding DMCA and copyright laws, even if a video or film, shows up and is playable on You Tube, if you try to port it onto your website, the video will not play on your site.  That was the case with this video, Home Alone.  We found a work around that allows us to port the movie in despite these new restrictions now being put in place.

We don't get it.  Play it on TV and you are free to record the movie onto a VHS tape, DVD or onto your Hard Drive and even TiVo.  You are free to make copies of that show any way you wish from that recording.  Yet, post it online and you violate copyright laws.  Download a copy and you violate copyright laws.  Anyone see any issues here?  We see VHS and DVD copies sold all the time through legal channels on the second hand market through thrift stores and more.  No one is thinking of copyright violations in those areas or markets.

Used DVD or VHS tapes one would think should fall under copyright violations as the license should not transfer from the original purchaser.  Wait, that is a really bad idea and how many sales would the movie industry loose because of it?  DivX started out as a limited play and expired after so many days of first playing a video or after so many plays of the video.  What happened to that market?  The market crashed as no one wanted the highly overpriced crap and now DivX is free software.  Something eventually has to give over DMCA copyright laws as they are failing in so many areas and we just do not see them ever winning no matter what they do.

Charlie Chan in Reno - Classic Movies

Classic Movies for Sunday is this Charlie Chan  film, "In Reno."  If you have never seen a Charlie Chan movie before, we recommend you take some time and check one out.  If you can get over the fact that it's in black and white and not color, they really are very enjoyable.  It's always fun to look at the fashions, cars, furniture, planes, boats and everything else from back in that time period.  If you pay attention to those facts, it makes the movie more interesting.

Make Mine Freedom - Video Cartoon

Make Mine Freedom.  A video that still holds a lot for every American even today.

If you are wondering where the usual Classic TV programs are, we have decided to discontinue them.  In a recent meeting with CBS, their legal staff discussed problems they are having with copyright infringement.  The extra legal staff and extra people needed to surf the entire Internet looking for copyright violations is costing them a fortune.  Even though we have been embedding content and not uploading the content and hosting it, we realized during that meeting that we were facilitating further copyright infringement issues.  It's not our objective to infringe or even cause the infringement of copyright content on this site.

So that it is very clear, embedding infringing YouTube videos is not against any laws.  It's just not smart business to promote such activity.

We will continue to port in videos, however, we are going to try our best to ensure that the videos are not infringing on the rights of others.  We will look for public domain content the most.  Other areas will be custom channels of interest.  If we find one we particularly like, we will create a regular feature of it on here.

Jack and the Beanstalk, Abbott and Costello Classic Movie

A very rare color film featuring Abbott and Costello.  Jack and the Beanstalk.  Now the movie does begin in sepia mode.  So you need to bear that in mind.  Only two movies were ever made in color originally featuring this comedy duo.  The color versions were finished in the studios owned by either Abbott or Costello.  They each had their own studio and each finished one of the two movies in color through those studios.

As we understand it, this movie is in the Public Domain.  That is the reason we are hosting it on one of our many YouTube channels.  A great movie for a lazy Sunday afternoon or evening.  Enjoy.
