Trolley, Street Car - Old Time Photo of the week

From days gone by.  An old time trolley also known as a street car.   This picture is from New York City.  One of the signs on the trolley to the left of the conductor, says, Brooklyn Bridge.  At one time this was the height of technology and transportation.  Now just a relic of the past.

Sometimes you have to ask if we have actually moved forward or backwards?  It's an interesting question.  You are free to grab a copy of this picture for your own files.  No copyrights are on this so there are no copyright violations to worry about.  Just right click and Save As.  Put where you can remember where it is on your system.

Old Photo Of The Week - Bicycle Wings

From the early 1900's this photo is of a woman riding a bicycle with no hands so that she can spread her wings like an angel.  Something different and interesting.  Our old photo of the week pick.

Old Time Photo Of The Week - Stanley Steamer Race Car

For those old enough and who might remember hearing the name, here is a picture of the Stanley Steamer racing car.  This car is over 100 years old and is powered by water.  Steam water that is.  It's not gas and it's not electric.  This is one of many models.  The steam engine for cars was one of the original contenders for automobiles in the first part of the 20th century.  Steam engines, electric engines and gas engines.  Gas engines won as gas was cheap.  What happened?  Monopoly.  Plain and simple.

We do not need to reinvent the wheel.  We just need to improve on existing technologies.  This is our old time photo of the week.  Check out our old time photo of the week every Sunday right here on GVLN.
