Gloucester Virginia Crime Reports; Sheriff's Reports

In the 15100 block of George Washington Memorial Highway

A single-vehicle accident on Aug. 4 resulted in the issuance of two summons to Nicholas Fleming Clay, 19, of Clarksville, Md., for underage possession of alcohol and reckless driving.

In the 14700 block of George Washington Memorial Highway

A resident reported a breaking and entering on Aug. 4 between 7 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. There were no signs of forced entry and no items were reported as stolen or damaged. Entry was made through an unlocked door.

In the 3300 block of Woodside Street

A Hayes resident reported on Aug. 4 damaged property that occurred sometime over the past day. The victim reported that sugar was put into the gas tank of his vehicle.

In the 3000 block of Ross Drive

Deputies arrested on Aug. 4 Ronald Wayne Lynch, 51, of Ross Drive in Gloucester, on a charge of public intoxication in the area of Abingdon Mobile Home Park.

In the 6800 block of Waltons Lane

Deputies were called on Aug. 6 to a shoplifting at Walmart. A man and woman were observed by a loss-prevention employee removing clothing items valued at less than $200 and concealing the items in the woman's purse before passing all points of sale. The man and woman were located near the scene and additional items stolen from Ollie's with a value less than $200 were discovered. The property was returned and summons for petit larceny were issued to Darrell Wayne Taylor, 27, of Freewelcome Lane in Gloucester and Kathryn Casey Lerma, 21, of New Point Comfort Road in Port Haywood.

In the 6100 block of Shady Lane

A resident reported on Aug. 6 the larceny from a truck parked at a residence that occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. A man was observed removing tool items with a value less than $200 from the bed of a pickup and leaving. A summons was issued to William Colby Jackson, 19, of Shady Lane in Gloucester.

In the 7600 block of Foster Road

A resident reported the larceny from a garage that occurred sometime since July 28 when the home owner was out of the area. A Cub Cadet lawn mower, trimmer and Yamaha four-wheeler were taken with a value exceeding $200. There were no signs of forced entry.

In the 6800 block of Waltons Lane

A shoplifting was reported Aug. 7 at Walmart when an employee saw a woman placing craft and cosmetic items inside here purse and passing all points of sale. The items, valued at less than $200, were recovered and returned. A summons for petit larceny was issued to Tianna Jean Marble, 26, of Lord Carrington Drive in Gloucester.




In the 7300 block of John Clayton Memorial Highway

A two-vehicle accident on Aug. 3 at 5:54 p.m. resulted in the arrest of Joshua Lee Davidson, 32, of Grove Court in Gloucester, on charges of driving while intoxicated, first offense, possession of schedule I & II controlled substances, possession of marijuana, first offense, and possession of a schedule IV controlled substance.

In the 4200 block of Hickory Fork Road

A resident reported on Aug. 3 the larceny from a residence that occurred at approximately the beginning of July. There were no signs of forced entry. A range finder and knife set were reported as stolen with a value exceeding $200. It's unknown why there was a delay in reporting the larceny.

Gloucester sheriff's weekly crime and arrest report



In the 10500 block of Harcum Road

A resident reported on June 28 a breaking and entering that occurred between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. The rear door to the residence had been kicked in and change and a Ruger .380 caliber handgun were taken. The items had a combined value exceeding $200.

In the 12400 block of Cedar Trail

A resident reported damaged property that occurred between 10 a.m. and noon on June 29. The front door of the residence was forced open damaging the door frame. The value was less than $200. Entry did not appear to have been gained and no items were missing.

In the 2300 block of York Crossing Drive

Deputies received a larceny report on June 29 from the ABC store. A woman was observed concealing a bottle of Crystal Head vodka in her purse and then leaving the store. The woman was identified and Brooke Nichole Keeton, 22, of Hayes, was arrested on a felony charge of petit larceny, third offense.

In the 9600 block of Ditch Bank Road

A report was received on June 29 of an intoxicated woman. Mary Margaret Haywood, 59, who is homeless, was arrested on a charge of public intoxication.

On Guinea Road

A report was received on June 30 at approximately 6:16 p.m. of an intoxicated woman at the waiting shelter at Guinea Park and Ride. Mary Margaret Haywood, who is homeless, was arrested on a charge of public intoxication.

In the 1200 block of Greate Road

A report was received on June 30 of intoxicated males at Gloucester Point Beach. Deputies arrested Roger Wayne Winkles, of Newport News, and William Lee Whiting, 46, of Hayes, on charges of public intoxication.

In the 7400 block of Willis Road

A resident reported damaged property overnight. An unknown vehicle drove through a yard and broke a chain across a driveway and damaged fencing. The damage was approximately $200.

In the 6000 block of George Washington Memorial Highway

Deputies received a report from S&D Design Shop in the Stagecoach Antiques & Flea Market in which an undisclosed amount of cash was taken from an employee's wallet while the shop was open between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

In the 2600 block of Carmines Island Road

A report was received on June 27 from Howard Lawn Mower Service. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken from the office sometime over the past day. There were no signs of forced entry.

A report was received on June 27 at 10:25 p.m. of a single-vehicle accident resulted in the arrest of Melody Faith Moore, 24, of Gloucester, on a charge of driving while intoxicated, with a blood alcohol content of between 0.15 and 0.20, first offense. Moore was also issued a summons for texting while driving.

Weekly arrest report from Gloucester County sheriff

In the 4200 block of Cappahosic Road
A resident reported on June 12 the larceny from a garage that occurred since June 1. Two arc welders were taken with a value exceeding $200. There were no signs of forced entry and it's unknown if the garage was locked.
In the 8300 block of George Washington Memorial Highway
Deputies received on June 12 a report of shoplifting from 7-Eleven when a man concealed two Four Loko alcoholic drinks in his back pockets and left the store.
In the 3400 block of Providence Road
A report of a fight on June 12 led to the arrest of Jessica L. Zaleski, 27, of Providence Road in Hayes, on a charge of assault and battery of a family member.
In the 8600 block of Roaring Springs Road
A report was received on June 13 of a burglary to the ranger station at Beaverdam Park that had occurred overnight. Forced entry was made through a side window and two portable radios and equipment with a value exceeding $200, as well as an undisclosed amount of cash were taken.
In the 6700 block of Williams Landing Road
A resident reported on June 13 his credit card had two fraudulent charges in Alabama with a total less than $200.
In the 6400 block of Wyncote Avenue
A report of an assault on June 13 led to the arrest of Ronald Gene Duncan, 49, of Wyncote Avenue in Gloucester, on charges of assault and battery of a family member.
In the 7600 block of Meredith Drive
A report was received on June 14 in which a Samsung tablet was taken from a patient's room at Walter Reed Convalescent Center on June 12. The value of the device exceeded $200.
In the 1900 block of George Washington Memorial Highway
A traffic stop on June 14 at 4:45 a.m. resulted in the arrest of Guillermo Lucero Herrera, 42, of Norfolk, on charges of driving while intoxicated, first offense, and refusal to take a breath test.
On Brays Point Road
A traffic stop on June 15 resulted in a summons for driving while suspended, second offense, being issued to Logan Tyler Sumner, 22, of Dancers Creek Road in Gloucester.
In the 9000 block of Bacons Lane
A resident reported on June 15 a larceny from a trailer hooked to a pickup truck at the victim's residence that occurred overnight. An Echo straight-shaft weed trimmer and gas can were taken with a value exceeding $200.
In the 6000 block of Roland Smith Drive
A resident reported credit card fraud on June 15 in which his 1st Advantage Federal Credit Union card had three fraudulent transactions on June 11 for a total of approximately $600. The transaction appeared to be online. No further information was provided.
In the 6600 block of Main Street
Deputies received a report on June 15 from the ABC store that was discovered during a review of video surveillance. An unidentified man was observed on June 14 concealing a 1/2 –pint of Smirnoff 80-proof vodka valued at less than $200.
In the 1900 block of Jenkins Lane
Deputies received a report on June 15 of threats to burn or destroy a residence on Jenkins Neck Road. Jon Christopher Covington, 41, of Jenkins Neck Road in Hayes, was arrested on a charge of a threat to bomb or damage a building.
In the 9000 block of Burkes Pond Road
A resident reported on June 16 a larceny that occurred sometime between Jan. 16 and June 16. A 3-foot by 1-foot cannon was taken that was stored in the attic. It had a value exceeding $200. There were no signs of forced entry.

Weekly Arrest Report From Gloucester County Sheriff's Office

In the 1400 block of George Washington Memorial Highway
A man was observed on June 8 at 10:35 p.m. near the northbound side of the Coleman Bridge. When contact was made, he had slurred speech, emitted the smell of an alcoholic beverage and was unsteady on his feet. Joseph Richard Prete, 56, of Urbanna, was arrested on a charge of public swearing or intoxication.
In the 14800 block of George Washington Memorial Highway
A report was received of a petit larceny that occurred on June 9 at the Glenn's 7-Eleven when a customer left his money clip containing less than $200 on the counter after making a purchase. When he realized it was gone, he contacted the store and was later advised the money clip had been found and placed under the counter. The money clip was missing from the under the counter, however.
In the 7800 block of Ware Neck Road
A traffic stop in the area of Ware Neck Road and Route 14 on June 9 at 11:56 p.m. resulted in the arrest of Jason Lane West, 26, of Gloucester, on charges of driving while intoxicated, first offense, with a blood alcohol content of between 0.08 and 0.14, possession of marijuana, first offense, and possession of a controlled substance.
On George Washington Memorial Highway
A traffic stop on June 9 in the area of Route 17 and Camp Okee Drive resulted in the issuance of a summons to Michael Brandon Teter, 26, of Mathews, on a charge of driving with a revoked license, first offense.
In the 5300 block of Clay Bank Road
A resident reported on June 9 property damage that occurred between 10:30 a.m. on June 8 and 1:30 a.m. on June 9. The rear storm door had broken glass. No entry was made to the residence and damage was less than $200.
In the 6700 block of Main Street
Deputies received a report on June 9 of damaged property at Edgehill Shopping Center. A woman parked her vehicle and heard the rear window break after getting out. The cause of the breakage is unknown.
On George Washington Memorial Highway
A vehicle registered 110 mph while a deputy was running stationary radar on June 9 at 3:57 a.m. in the area of Bacon's Lane and Route 17. The driver failed to stop resulting in a vehicle pursuit that concluded in Mathews County. Kevin Richard Ladd, 29, of George Washington Memorial Highway in Gloucester, was arrested on charges of eluding police, endangering persons or police.
On Trails Lane
A reported assault on June 9 at Thousand Trails Campground resulted in the arrest of Heidi Marie Strange, 22, of Partlow, on a charge of assault and battery of a family member.
In the 6800 block of Waltons Lane
Walmart employee noticed on June 9 a woman placing items in her purse and leaving the store. Heather Ann Elizabeth Ashe, 18, of Moores Point Road, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting. The items were recovered.
In the 6400 block of Corr Street
A traffic stop on June 9 resulted in a summons or driving with a revoked license, first offense, being issued for Warren Adam Metzger, 23, of Main Street in Gloucester.
In the 6800 block of Waltons Lane
A shoplifting report was received from Walmart on June 9 at 5:14 p.m. An employee observed a man and woman attempting to leave the store with a Dell computer and shoes in a shopping cart, with the combined value of the items exceeding $200. An off-duty Gloucester County Sheriff's Office deputy saw the incident and was attempting to assist. Additional deputies arrived and Antwan Deshawn Valentine, 24, of Norfolk, was charged with grand larceny and obstruction to justice. Also arrested was Christina Kasha Bryant, 23, of Suffolk, on charges of resisting arrest and grand larceny. Bryant was also served with warrants from Virginia Beach related to credit card fraud, and from Chesapeake and Norfolk related to probation violations
Deputies received a report on June 11 at 2:45 a.m. of a suspicious vehicle driving slowly. Contact was made with the driver at the stop sign. Rosalee Melberg, 44, of Woodside Street in Hayes, was issued a summons for driving with a suspended license, first offense.
In the 6400 block of Village Woods Court
A resident reported on June 11 a larceny from the back porch of a residence. Two Mongoose BMX bicycle were taken sometime over the previous two days. The value of the stolen bicycles exceeded $200.
In the 6600 block of Main Street
A business reported on June 11 a burglary that occurred overnight. Forced entry was made through a window at Ware Neck Produce. An undisclosed amount of change was taken.
In the 6100 block of Allmondsville Road
Deputies received a larceny report on June 11 from an unlocked vehicle that occurred between June 1 and June 10. A GPS was taken with a value exceeding $200.
In the 10800 block of Buchanan Lane
A resident reported on June 11 a credit card fraud in which is Langley Federal Credit Union credit card had fraudulent charges on May 8 for $110.53 in South Carolina.
In the 9600 block of Ban Road
A resident reported on June 11 a larceny from an unlocked vehicle parked at a residence that had occurred sometime over the past five days. A Ruger .380 caliber pistol was taken with a value exceeding $200.
In the 7500 block of Hospital Drive
Deputies received a report on June 11 at 5:49 p.m. of a disorderly person at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital. An intoxicated woman was walking into the rooms of patients and disturbing them and refused to follow instructions. Mary Margaret Haywood, 59, of Gloucester, was arrested on a charge of public intoxication.
In the 6200 block of Ark Road
While placing a man into custody for an outstanding warrant from Hampton, a search revealed a smoking device with residue on him. James Purnell Randall, 53, of Indian Road in Gloucester, was arrested on a charge of possession of cocaine.
In the 8000 block of Ark Road
Deputies received a report on June 11 of an assault. The victim's vehicle was also damaged by rocks being thrown at the vehicle while it was in motion. Kimberly Megan Millen, 27, of Ark Road, was arrested on charges of assault and battery of a family member, destruction of private property and throwing a missile at a moving vehicle.
