Gloucester Point, Suntrust Bank

Here is the Gloucester Point Sun Trust Bank. I have banked with them for many years and the service is just top notch. The folks have gone way out of their way for me on numerous occasions. Technically speaking this is not an endorsement as the bank does not allow interviews or press without a corporate spokesperson. All the big companies are this way, but that won't stop us from speaking our mind anyway.

This is the first bank in Gloucester County when you come over the Coleman bridge and is on the left hand side on the corner at the first stop light in the county. So access in and out is very easy. The Sun Trust Bank Web Site.

A new feature we are adding this year is called tips and tricks and is a feature designed to help you get more out of life and more for your money. We discovered a new trick today that led to this feature being brought to you. We just need to take a few pictures of our new trick and we will save you some money right off the back once you read and take advantage of the information. We'll try to get it on here as soon as possible.

FDR Restaurant, Soon To Be J and W's

FDR Restaurant which is soon to be called J&W's FOR Diner, is now owned and operated by William and Julie Davis. William Davis is the chef and all meals are prepared right here in the kitchen. Unlike other restaurants where everything comes in pre made and is just heated by the kitchen staff.

This place features a nice menu selection starting with breakfast which is served all day by the way, and is comprised by the traditional foods such as eggs, omelets, pancakes, french toast and breakfast sandwich's. Lunch consists of items like a fish sandwich, fried or grilled crab cake, ham & cheese, turkey and cheese, open face beef sandwich with 1 side, pork BBQ, and so much more. Ala Cart side include fries, onion rings, cole slaw, green beans, red beets, potato of the day and more. There is also the special Billy's Build A Burger which is a half pound burger and comes with chips.

Diner is a nice mix ranging from North Carolina Style BBQ, Liver & Onions, Baked Meatloaf, Hamburger Steak, Chicken Scampi, Chicken Fingers, Country Fried Steak, Pastas, Seafood that includes 2 sides and are Crab cake, Oysters, Shrimp or Shrimp Scampi.

Prices are very reasonable too. Here is a breakfast example; Western Omelet with ham and cheese, peppers, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, and cheddar cheese, home fries, or grits and toast, the price is $6.59. We will give you an update after we eat there. The place is incredibly clean and the owners were very nice. You won't go wrong with this dining choice.

Rick Nelson Tribute Yesterday Was The Anniversary Of His Death

12/31/08 Was the anniversary of the death of Rick Nelson. Even though I was not a fan nor followed Rick Nelson, I have come to know who he was and am posting this as a tribute to both him and his family. God Bless.

2009 Web Site Announcements

We are doing some new things with the site for 2009. We will be cataloging Gloucester County through pictures and bits of information about businesses, places of interest, more links and videos on area interests so that any visitor can see Gloucester County the way we do. We are becoming more interactive and we appreciate your feedback.

We will also try and get more news stories that we break ourselves for your information. Let us know what you want and if we can do it we will. So if you see someone taking pictures in the middle of an intersection, parking lot or park, it's a good chance it's us. So honk your horn and say hello. And as you can tell, we have already begun.

Short Lane Ice Cream Video

Here is a great video for the Short Lane Ice Cream Shop here in Gloucester, Virginia. This is a great example of socially engineered marketing and the video has the best reasons to visit this shop. I know I plan on taking the family there. They also put up a few other videos on YouTube which I may bring to this site in the future. We will have an update on this store in the future after we visit.
