Exposing Obama would reveal the depth of US Government corruption. 47548.jpegBy Lawrence Sellin
The solution for the United States is not to elect more "good" people to government because they are quickly co-opted and compromised by the corrupt political system.
It may sound cynical, but the solution is to make it politically advantageous for bad people to do the right thing.
It is not now politically advantageous for either the Democrat or the Republican Party to tell the truth about Barack Obama; that he is an illegal President and very likely a felon, who has a forged birth certificate, a forged Selective Service registration and is using a Social Security Number not issued to him.
Both parties are steadfastly protecting Obama to protect their investment in the corrupt political status quo.
The formula is simple. To keep themselves permanently in office, members of Congress collect taxes nationwide, they then use the proceeds to repay wealthy financiers with tax loopholes or government loans and buy constituent votes through local tax-funded projects.
The American people have given Congress a credit card with no limit. Rather than themselves being financially penalized for their largesse, members of Congress simply pass the debt along to ordinary Americans and future generations, while they enrich themselves through the power granted them to spend our money.
The larger the federal government, the greater the number of opportunities arise for politicians to benefit from the scam.
Is anyone surprised that 50% of Congress members are millionaires compared to the 1% millionaires in the United States as a whole?
Both Democrats and Republican recognize that exposing Obama will lead to a bloodbath of revelations about their complicity to undermine the Constitution and flout the rule of law, which would jeopardize their comfortable lifestyles. The truth would generate genuine outrage among the American people.

GVLN - US cities going bankrupt

US cities going bankrupt. 47577.jpeg
In past decades, many US municipalities declared bankruptcy. Since 1981, 42 cases were filed. Ten came in the past four years. Given hard times getting harder, what's happening now is unprecedented since the Great Depression. Cities occasionally declare bankruptcy. In America, they're coming more often. Others in dire financial straits may follow.
San Bernardino, CA is the latest. On July 11, The New York Times headlined "Third City In California Votes to Seek Bankruptcy," saying:
Officials have no choice. They can't meet payroll obligations through summer. "Faced with a budget shortfall of $45 million and city coffers that have already been drained, the San Bernardino City Council voted on Tuesday to file for bankruptcy."
Interim city manager Andrea Travis-Miller said: "I am concerned about our ability to make payroll, not only in the next 30 days but also in the next 60 to 90 days. A major restructuring of this organization is needed."
California cities have two Chapter 9 bankruptcy options. They can either hire a third-party mediator to negotiate with unions and creditors or declare a fiscal emergency. San Bernardino chose the latter way. Depression conditions ravage the city. Many others face similar problems. Stockton and Mammoth Lakes declared bankruptcy earlier. Other financially strapped cities and towns around the state and country may follow.
It's hard keeping up with many troubled municipalities, counties, school systems, and other public services potentially facing bankruptcy. In December 2010, financial analyst Meredith Whitney told 60 Minutes that over 100 US cities could go bust in the next year

GVLN - CDC: Whooping cough rising at alarming rate in US

ATLANTA (AP) -- The U.S. appears headed for its worst year for whooping cough in more than five decades, with the number of cases rising at an epidemic rate that experts say may reflect a problem with the effectiveness of the vaccine.
Nearly 18,000 cases have been reported so far - more than twice the number seen at this point last year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Thursday. At this pace, the number for the entire year will be the highest since 1959, when 40,000 illnesses were reported.
Nine children have died, and health officials called on adults - especially pregnant women and those who spend time around children - to get a booster shot as soon as possible.
"My biggest concern is for the babies. They're the ones who get hit the hardest," said Mary Selecky, chief of the health department in Washington, one of the states with the biggest outbreaks. Washington and Wisconsin have reported more than 3,000 cases each, and high numbers have been seen in a number of other states, including New York, Minnesota and Arizona.
Whooping cough has generally been increasing for years, but this year's spike is startling. Health investigators are trying to figure out what's going on, and theories include better detection and reporting of cases, some sort of evolution in the bacteria that cause the illness, or shortcomings in the vaccine.

GVLN - NBC - FBI Raids NJ Capital's City Hall in Corruption Probe

FBI Raids NJ Capital's City Hall in Corruption Probe
The FBI searched offices in the New Jersey capital's city hall Thursday, NBC 4 New York exclusively reported, a day after raiding the home of the mayor in a growing corruption probe. A city hall worker told NBC 4 New York that federal agents were en route to the office of Trenton Mayor Tony Mack and other office. The FBI declined to comment on the investigation, but New Jersey's impoverished capital city has been marred during Mack's two-year administration by accusations of nepotism and reckless spending. Mack denied any wrongdoing just after the Wednesday morning raid of his home.

GVLN - TSA Agents Allegedly Strip-Search Woman, Fiddle with Feeding Tube

View more videos at: http://nbcdfw.com.

Omar Villafranca, NBC 5 News
A North Texas woman says airport security agents strip-searched her and then swabbed her medically implanted tube for explosives.
A North Texas man says he is outraged that airport security agents at Dallas Love Field strip-searched his wife and handled her feeding tube.
Melinda Deaton has a four-inch medical tube sticking out of her stomach. The medically implanted tube is needed for treatment after complications with a gastric bypass surgery.
Deaton frequently flies from Dallas to Minneapolis for treatment at the Mayo Clinic. She said Transportation Security Administration agents strip-searched her and touched her feeding tube Wednesday morning when she was on her way to three days of treatment.
Her husband, John Deaton, said the incident was unusual.
"They will see it on their screens, ask her what it is, she'd identify it, they may pat it on the outside of her clothing, accept it and go on," he said.
But that didn't happen Wednesday morning.
Even though she was wearing a medical bracelet with a USB drive on it that contained notes from her doctor, TSA agents still searched her.

George Zimmerman's television interview in which he said he had few regrets about the night he killed teenager Trayvon Martin has been entered as possible evidence in his upcoming murder trial.
In a wide ranging interview with Fox News' Sean Hannity Zimmerman, appearing articulate and calm, said he neither regretted carrying a gun that night nor pursuing the 17-year-old Martin.
"I feel that it was all God's plan," he told Hannity. When asked if there was "anything you might do differently," Zimmerman responded, "No Sir."
This morning the prosecution entered the tape of the interview into discovery as and could attempt to admit it as evidence in Zimmerman's trial on charges of second degree murder.
Zimmerman, 28, has maintained that he shot Martin in self-defense after Martin attacked him in Sanford, Fla., on the night of Feb. 26.
Towards the end of the interview, following commercial break, Zimmerman pivoted towards the camera and addressed it directly, saying he misunderstood Hannity's earlier question about whether he had any regrets that night.
"I do wish that there was something, anything I could have done that would have put me in the position that I wouldn't have to take his life," he said.
Granting the interview will likely haunt Zimmerman, veteran legal analyst and defense attorney Mark Eiglarsh told ABC News. "He has impeached himself publicly, this is going to be a huge problem for him… and the prosecutors must be extremely pleased... He was making inconsistent statements that they can use in a trial against him."

GVLN - Protect Privacy From Drones At Home, Lawmakers Say

Image representing Associated Press as depicte...
Image via CrunchBase
By JOAN LOWY | Associated Press

WASHINGTON (AP) — Before thousands of civilian drones begin flying in U.S. skies, Congress should take steps to protect the public's privacy and prevent terrorists from hacking or jamming signals that control the aircraft, lawmakers said Thursday.
House members from both parties said at an oversight hearing that they're worried about potential privacy and security threats as the use of small unmanned aircraft becomes widespread. The Federal Aviation Administration forecasts an estimated 10,000 civilian drones will be in use in the U.S. within five years.
Even Rep. Henry Cuellar, D-Texas, co-chair of bipartisan group of lawmakers promoting greater domestic use of drones, acknowledged that legislation to protect privacy may be necessary.
There is tremendous demand to use drones at home for all kinds of tasks that are too dirty, dull or dangerous for manned aircraft. Drones also are often cheaper than manned aircraft. The biggest market is expected to be state and local police departments.
Industry experts predict the takeoff of a multi-billion dollar market for civilian drones as soon as the FAA completes regulations to make sure they don't pose a safety hazard to other aircraft. But the agency's focus and expertise is safety, not security or privacy.
Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas, chairman of a House Homeland Security subcommittee, complained that no federal agency has been willing to tackle the issue of drones and privacy. He said Department of Homeland Security officials refused a request to testify at the hearing, saying regulating civilian use of drones wasn't the department's responsibility.
McCaul said he is considering seeking a subpoena to force officials to testify at a future hearing or asking the White House to issue an executive order requiring the department take responsibility for the matter.
"This is an evolving field and we have thousands of these things that could be deployed in the sky," McCaul said. "I think it's incumbent on the Department of Homeland Security to come up with a policy ... Local law enforcement does need that guidance."
Homeland Security officials didn't immediately reply to a request for comment.
Among the dangers, witnesses said, is that the signals used to guide civilian drones can be hacked or jammed, causing them to crash.
Military drones use encrypted GPS signals for navigation, which protects them from hacking, but the GPS signals used by civilian drones don't have that protection, said Todd Humphreys, an assistant professor of orbital mechanics at the University of Texas-Austin.
In an experiment, Humphreys said he and his students were able to successfully hack the signals of a sophisticated drone, getting it to change altitude or position through "spoofing" — sending the drone incorrect information on its location. He acknowledged that it would be very difficult for an ordinary person to spoof a drone, although it might be within the capability of a terrorist or criminal network.
GPS signal jammers available for sale on the Internet for as little as $50 could also be used to cause a civilian drone to crash, said Gerald Dillingham of the Government Accountability Office.
Michael Toscano, president of the Association for Unmanned Vehicles Systems International, pointed out in written comments submitted to the committee that government and industry officials have long been aware that spoofing is a concern for any technology that relies on GPS for guidance and timing, not just unmanned aircraft.
"That said, the industry takes the potential for spoofing very seriously and is already advancing technologies ... to prevent it," he said.

Gloucester, VA Pocahontas And John Smith Story Part Of Gloucester's Rich History

The story of Pocahontas is a very large part of Gloucester, VA's rich history.  When we did research in the past about Gloucester's history, we were very disappointed with the vast majority of information and disinformation found throughout the Internet.  So we have been working hard at compiling better information and research and offering it to everyone for free.  More extensive than other works we have found elsewhere, we have acquired distribution rights on these works.

We are continuing this research and compilation of Gloucester's rich and extensive history and will continue to post and host it.  We have some other books on Pocahontas as well that we will eventually get up on here.  You can download a copy of this book either through Slideshare or right below.  If you have any questions on how to download the e-book from this site, we have a page link above that contains instructions on how to download any of our files.

Sunrise Donuts Funded By Tax Payers? Holli M Cohoon Updated

Sunrise Donuts Funded By Tax Payers?

GVLN – Holli Cohoon 911 Operator Update

175,000 People Can't Be Wrong – Gloucester, VA Links and News

Well we have learned some very interesting facts about Holli Cohoon who was the 911 operator with the Gloucester County Sheriff's office during the time of the case we have been reporting on. Only weeks after she took the 911 call from the victim, she left the Sheriff's office. Not long after leaving the sheriff's office, she gave false statements in court against the victim in our news stories and also received a very large sum of money from the Gloucester Sheriff's Office.

Not long after that, Holli opened a new business. Sunrise Donuts located on route 17 south in White Marsh next to the Hampton Tobacco shop, another business recently in our news spotlight. One could say that the Sunrise Donuts Shop has been financed by the tax payers of Gloucester County as the Sheriff's Office is not supposed to be a money making enterprise. The finances come from we the tax payers.

Local community reaction to the shop has been a mixed bag. Some complain about the higher prices and quality not being as good as other local competition, along with being an extra stop not worth making while others do not mind paying the higher costs and have no issues with the quality and limited selections.

Some of the complaints heard by local patrons is selections being sold out early with no more production for the day and being a chronic issue. Hours of operation have also been addressed as a concern by many locals.

News stories are starting to flood in about other extremely questionable activities stemming from Gloucester Animal Control. Our files are now bulging and our research is stretched and we will continue to collect all the files. Jeff Stillman has come into our recent spotlight along with the requests on him from his wife about animals she has wanted. We are investigating this story right now.

We are also now uncovering Monique Donner, Esq, ties to USERL and how she has been actively involved in highly questionable raids then acts as a prosecutor against those she was actively involved in said raids. Is there a question of ethics and a conflict of interest?

We have further learned how Gloucester Animal Control is tied in with USERL and have documentation that Gloucester Animal Control never dares raid a property that has horses without USERL when it comes to the bigger raids. Plus we have uncovered the financial scams that finance highly questionable raids throughout the nation and how they all work. Money that is funneled in by the ASPCA on raids where there are more than 12 horses on a property. Profits abound in these raids and then there is the collection of financial donations that certain non profit organizations take in on top of the money they make on these raids. What a business. Robin Hood is still alive and well but gives nothing to the poor.

In fact we have uncovered a demographic that raids fit into. Well off but not rich. Just enough money to be comfortable and maintain a comfortable lifestyle, but not wealthy enough to defend themselves in very expensive court battles. Even if they do mount an offensive, they normally can't afford the constant put offs normal in the court systems and also mounted by lawyers.

We continue to watch all of the pages Gloucesterva.info continues to put into the search engines to stave off any potential negative news that could potentially affect the county. The problem is that it is choking the local search engines from being able to show local community businesses as well, seriously hurting local commerce. More of your tax dollars working hard against you.

Gloucester, VA Local Government Using Local Business Tax Dollars To Kill Local Businesses

Gloucester, VA Local Government Using Local Business Tax Dollars To Kill Local Businesses

GVLN Press Release
July 17th, 2012

Gloucester, VA. Local county government is flooding the local search engines with a huge amount of pages from it's main site located at www.gloucesterva.info. With a net effect of taking over the vast majority of local search results. This is coming at a large cost to local businesses with web sites and any other potential business considering putting up a local web site as the sites are getting lost in the search engine results.

A business that yesterday may have been on the first page of a Gloucester, VA search engine result may now find themselves way down on the 5th or 6th page of search results thanks to local government efforts to tie up local search. This is just bad for local commerce. How can anyone compete with a local government with such deep pockets all funded by local tax dollars? Where one ranks in the search engine results can make a huge difference in the amount of business one does in this information age.

Expected response from local government officials would be to say that it's an honest mistake made as the county was only trying to make the community aware of all the local government services available and part of it's effort in a transparent government process. Gloucester, VA Links and News thinks that there are other reasons for the county flooding the search engines. An old SEO trick when the county comes under attack with negative press is to flood out the results of that press so that it has little to no effect on the county government.

Gloucester, VA Links and News has been covering numerous negative news pieces about Gloucester, VA official’s and various offices and believes that this is the exact reason why the county government is flooding the search engines.

Either way, it's bad for local businesses as their sites keep getting pushed further down the search engine results causing a net negative effect in local commerce that helps fund the local government to begin with. It's just a self defeating move on the part of the county.

Bacon's Rebellion - 1676.  We have created a special edition of this book.  The original book was transferred into an electronic edition some years ago and we acquired rights to it.  We have made some updates to the book and now are offering it here. All the usual information on Bacon's Rebellion on the Internet is horrible to say the least.  Gloucester factors highly in this story which is why we have it here.  Nathaniel Bacon died at Pate's House known as Gloucester Hall which we are researching now.  We have included pictures of Warner Hall which was one of the placed Bacon went when he first came to Gloucester.  We are allowing free downloads of this e-book and we are giving a license on our version of it as well.

GVLN - Middle Peninsula Farmers Facing Crop Losses

The heat wave that has blistered corn in the Midwest may help some local farmers, but others worry their crops will fall to the same fate.
Two weeks ago, corn was selling for about $5.50 a bushel. Earlier this week, after the U.S. Department of Agriculture reported that 30 percent of the corn in the nation's 18 top producing states was in poor condition, prices on the Chicago Board of Trade soared to $7.74 per bushel.
For farmers in Isle of Wight and Surry counties, whose crops have not been effected by either the high heat or a lack of rain in recent weeks, that's good news. But Gloucester County farmer Charles Rich doubts he will reap rewards from the higher price.
