Here is a recipe for a different type of cookie that dates back hundreds of years yet is updated for today's kitchen.  It's called Jumbals.  It's actually a very old English recipe for a very crisp wreath shaped cookie.  The following list is for the ingredients you will need.

1 pound of flour
1 pound of sugar
1 egg plus one egg white
1 cup of butter at room temperature

quarter cup blanched almonds, ground fine

Mix the sugar and flour together.  Combine both the egg and the egg white and beat together.  Warm the butter to a creamy texture.  Add eggs, butter and nuts to the flour mixture working into a fine dough.  Once the mixture is no longer sticky you are ready to roll the mix.  Use additional flour if needed.  Roll the mix out by hand and form into wreaths.

This is the basic cookie.   Now here is where you can be very creative on the finish.  You can brush the wreath with egg white and add other nuts, brown sugar, colored sugars, chocolate chips or leave plain and add a frosting later after it is baked.

Bake at 375 degrees for about 8 minutes or until golden brown around the edges.

If you have been looking for a recipe that can set your business apart and get people talking, this one is very unique.  When is the last time you saw a wreath cookie?  It's very simple to make and offers a great deal of opportunity to be creative with the finish.  You can create a wreath for any season.  You can also turn these into pretzel shaped cookies if desired.  Your imagination is your only limitation.
