Violet's Rant: Let's Talk About Gun Control

Oh Lordy be...,
We have us a few random air pockets running around in Virginia. Not so sure how they showed up but I find it hard to believe they were born here. You know what I'm talking about. Those fruity patooties with the big hollow spot between their ears. Yea, them!
I try to not to be so harsh, well probably not as hard as I could but good grief! If dumb gets any dumber. Jim Carey will never find a job. The dummies will outshine him by far.
So, let's talk about gun control....
Now, how many of you knuckleheads out there actually believe you are safer without one? Now, don't be bashful...
raise your hand or both so you can practice surrendering now.👀
Lemme 'splain something.... If you are sitting at your residence popping popcorn or whatever it is you like to do while sitting around watching television and some thug comes bursting through your door with a gun in hand, demanding that you give him all that you own of value. What's going to happen?  Lemme guess, your wife grabs the rolling pin and you grab the remote control. Now, that's some arsenal there my friend! Yup, you got it going on. Where I come from ...they call that a sitting duck. And we don't like to be sitting ducks.
Now you may want to practice your heroic actions with the rolling pin, but I personally don't want to be around for it. Nope, not me. It's gonna get ugly.
Try to fill a little air between those ears with some common sense for the sake of argument. Just because you surrendered your guns don't mean the thug is going to. And if you think not.... your air pocket may be in full disrepair.
I get that innocent people are being killed and it ticks me off too. But do you really think banishing a law that was designed to protect us, not only from intruders and violent offenders but the government itself is going to help? If law abiding citizens surrendered their guns then only criminals would own them. Can't you see that?  Now think about that. I mean, I don't really see a line of thug's standing in line to turn in their guns, do you? Nope, me either.
How about replacing all that ignorant sex ed which serves absolutely no purpose with gun laws.
Hmmmm now there's an idea...start with elementary students and teach them to "not touch it", "tell an adult" and what ever it is that's within their innocent brain level. Then let's get the middle school involved by sharing videos of parents, siblings and friends who tell their story of losing someone to gun violence, let them see real tears and find compassion before it's too late.....and then high school I think they should see the graphics. I mean really let them see that life stops.
I know....it's a shame that we have to educate them but the parents apparently don't have time or just don't care. So...., let's hold them accountable, yup.... The kids get convicted but the parents are accessories. I bet that ought to make a few of them think. What about you? Let's face it, if you have children you have a personal obligation to them and if you fail them. The burden shouldn't be all theirs.
I am sure there are more ideas and I think all should be brought to the table but lemme make one thing clear. We should never surrender our guns!!!!
Whew! Now, that I got that off of my chest let me update you on a couple of things. On December 3rd, 2019 there will be a hearing in Gloucester County regarding sanctuary cities for gun owners. It will be held at the Board Of Supervisors in Gloucester at 6:00 p.m.. I strongly urge you to attend.
Also, I have recently been told of a "march" on the 20th of March, 2020. https://www.facebook.com/VCDL.ORG/photos/gm.569714643790288/3392656227418689/?type=3
Once again, I suggest you be there to support our Second Amendment right.
Now, I get that the air pockets are having a tough time with this but we need to talk to everyone we pass and encourage them to register to vote and reach out with every opportunity you see! Some people just don't realize the magnitude of what is unfolding.
Here's a tad bit of history fer ya.... Hitler started with gun registration to protect children....then he seized them because children were still dying. Now, don't look at me I didn't make history. I just filled my head with something besides all that fluffy stuff!
Now, you can help solve the problem or be a part of the problem. That's entirely up to you. Bottom line is.... We are not surrendering our guns. I don't even own a gun but I am a strong supporter of them. Why? Because my father was a hunter, he provided for my family that way and so did most of the children I grew up with. The knucklehead concept that guns kill people is like saying the planes that flew into the Twin Towers were at fault and not the pilots flying them. And let's not forget about those enemies .... Do you really think they went away? Of course not, they are infiltrating our government offices and they want your guns! Just ask Ilhan Omar, Alexander Ostacio-Cortez, and Rashida Tlaib..... They don't want you to have guns either. Do you wonder why they have such a personal interest in it?
Now if that doesn't fill your air pocket with some common sense, I don't reckon nothing will.
There you have it folks...., We can stand idly by or we can refuse to be stripped of our Second Amendment Right to bare arms, slowly but surely. It's a no brainer! See you at the BOS Tuesday night in Gloucester!

Governor McAuliffe Announces Restoration of Rights for Over 10,000 People

RICHMOND – Today, Governor Terry McAuliffe announced that his administration restored the voting and civil rights of 10,009 individuals. The McAuliffe administration has restored the rights of more Virginians than any other Governor in a four year term.

“I am so proud of the work my team has done processing more than 10,000 of these important requests, and also making key changes to the process to make it more fair and accessible to Virginians,” said Governor McAuliffe. “Restoring the rights of Virginians who have made a mistake and paid the price is one of my Administration’s top priorities and I look forward to continuing to make history on this critical issue.”

Since the beginning of Governor McAuliffe’s term, he has implemented key changes to the restoration of rights process. First, he removed the requirement to pay court fees before submitting a restoration of rights application. Although individuals still have to pay the fees at a later time, it is no longer a barrier in the application process. Second, serious offenders are now required to wait three years instead of five years to apply. Third, the application is now one page long - down from 13 pages. Fourth, criminal records will have a restoration of rights notation once an individual has been restored. Fifth, all drug convictions are now classified as non-violent offenses.

“It is an honor to work with Governor McAuliffe and our talented team to help more Virginians who have made a mistake get a second chance at meaningful and productive lives,” said Secretary of the Commonwealth Levar Stoney. “Going forward we will continue to process as many applications as we can and  encourage the Virginians whose rights we restore to use them to the fullest by registering to vote and participating in the democratic process.” (Here is where we have issues with the information coming out of Richmond: Democratic process?  Sorry, we are a republic, not a socialist democracy but that is what the folks in Richmond are driving in here.  Full blown socialist and communist ideologies.)

If you or someone you know has been convicted of a felony and served their time, restoration of rights might be available. For more information, call 804-692-0104 or visit commonwealth.virginia.gov.

God And Gun Control - What You Might Not Know

For Christians wondering about what faith says about gun control, well we thought we would share his words with you and allow you to see for yourself.

Luke 22:35-38

35 Then Jesus asked them, “When I sent you without purse, bag or sandals, did you lack anything?”
“Nothing,” they answered.
36 He said to them, “But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one. 37 It is written: ‘And he was numbered with the transgressors’[a];and I tell you that this must be fulfilled in me. Yes, what is written about me is reaching its fulfillment.”
38 The disciples said, “See, Lord, here are two swords.”
“That’s enough!” he replied.

For those seeking to destroy 2nd Amendment rights?  Not a good idea.  For even God tells us to maintain our weapons.  For those wishing to argue this on the level that he was talking about a sword?  That was the weapon of mass destruction in those days.  They did not have guns.  If they had guns, then Jesus would have told them to buy and hide their guns.  In other words, for those seeking to control the masses against the wishes of the masses?  Not happening.

Second Amendment:  "A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

What is it that those seeking to steal rights do not understand about the above rights?  The language is very simple and straight forward, so it is clear that those seeking to control guns are seeking to infringe on our rights and take those rights away for their own self interest and also in violation of God's law.

Mass American Government Gun Confiscation Fails

Open Letter to the Citizens of Gloucester County Virginia,

“For the Common Good. “  Have you ever read the Constitution of the United States?  How about the Constitution of Virginia?

The year was 1775 the British Crown decided it was time to take the guns away.  Do you know the stories? A silversmith passed the warning protecting the magazines of Lexington and Concord.  The shot was heard around the world as the story goes.  The British Crown Governor of Virginia attempted the same thing in Williamsburg.

Because the British government failed I can say Happy 4th of July to you!

Today we celebrate our freedom because of the brave men and women that found they had more in common than differences and worked together to get rid of a common enemy.  They united a group of colonies for their common good drawing up a rule of law establishing a Democratic Republic to protect us from mob rule.

The individuals were as afraid of mob rule as a king and they worked hard to establish a government that takes the consensus of the elected officials to make laws and rules.  These founders knew they had to make it difficult for changes ensuring that there would not be mob rule.

Let’s look at the government; the House of Representatives is based on the population of each state as one leg of the legislature.  The Senate, as originally formed had two representatives from each state selected by the state governments – changed constitutionally to be voted in by the state population the second leg of the legislature.  The President, approving or disapproving the laws sent to him.  The other parts of the government, the Court System, judges appointed by the president and approved by the senate, deciding if laws are constitutional or not; and the final leg of the government a free and independent press to inform the voters what is going on to allow the voters to concur or to let their elected official know they do not approve of what is going on.  Read the constitution to learn more.  What is going on in our federal government shows us the founders did it correctly.

Some points I would like to share; currently the government has a problem with individuals having semiautomatic rifles, firing one bullet with each pull of the trigger, while the military has automatic rifles that can fire three bullets to emptiyng the magazine depending on the setting used by the soldier.  At the time of the forming of our country American’s had superior weapons to the British Army.  The American Muskets had rifled gun barrels allowing more accurate and longer range shooting than the muskets used by the British Soldiers.  The Bill of Rights had had no problem with this.  Also, at the End of the Civil War after General Lee surrendered to General Grant; Grant allowed the Southern Soldiers to take the pistols and rifles home with them as stipulated in the terms of surrender.

During World War II the Axis Powers were not afraid of our military if they invaded us (but they learned better) they were afraid of the American population and its ability to defend itself.  During the Cold War, the Soviet Military was not afraid of our military.  The Soviets did not invade us because they knew there was no way they could defeat and control our country with the number of civilians that had and knew how to use our civilian weapons.

“Live Free or Die” what else is there to do when you think of our 4th of July.  “For the common good.”

Sincerely,
Alexander James Jay

P.S.  Those that do not know history are doomed to repeat it.
