Song of the day - Headbanger by David TMX

This is a fast paced heavy metal tune with a good beat and sound.  It's euro so the lyrics are not in english, not that it matters, you really can't understand them anyway.  Overall a fun song though with a neat ending.

(NaturalNews) Over the counter pain remedies such as aspirin, acetaminophen, and ibuprofen have been the go-to choices for killing pain and/or inflammation fast. But they have their vast array of side effects.

Aspirin has been linked to gastrointestinal problems and ulcers as well hemorrhaging and strokes. Tylenol contains acetaminophen, which is toxic to the liver.

Ibuprofen is an NSAID (non-steroid anti-inflammatory drug). Advil and Motrin are common OTC ibuprofen drugs that create side effects such as nausea and dizziness, hypertension, DNA damage, hearing loss, and miscarriage.

Synthetic drugs may offer fast pain relief, but they are risky. There are many effective pain relieving and anti-inflammatory natural remedies that are effective after time, but below are some that offer fast pain relief.

Five natural and fast pain relief solutions

(1) Kratom an herb that is both fast and natural for pain relief is unknown to most of us. Natural News readers were only very recently introduced to it by Jonathan Benson's article. (http://www.naturalnews.com/035480_kratom_pain_relief_herb.html)

Kratom has an interesting history from its early times as an herb to reduce pain, increase energy, and lift spirits among Indonesians. Many who were hooked on opium used kratom to help them endure opium withdrawal easily.

According to legend, that's why it was banned there. It was interfering with the opium trade. Maybe so, maybe not.

The fact that it was banned in its country of origin, as well as the fact that kratom promotes a good feeling that helps overcome depression with a strong coffee buzz drew the attention of U.S. drug enforcement officials. It's actually banned in the state of Indiana.

But it is available online in all other states and in most other countries. You can find out much more about it here: http://www.kratomassociation.org/

(2) Devil's Claw is a South African herb that has been popular in Europe for couple hundred years. It has proven effective as an anti-inflammatory for arthritis, tendonitis, and muscle pain.

The German Commission E, Germany's version of our FDA, has approved it as a non-prescription or OTC medicine. It's not medically recognized by the FDA, but its legality is not an issue currently.

(3) Cannabis, unfortunately, has a legal issue. It has been clinically proven to relieve pain rapidly. It too has the side effect of altering mood if inhaled. But there are other methods of using cannabis, known to most as marijuana, that don't get you high.

If you are fortunate to live in a state that permits medical marijuana and get approved for a medical marijuana card, you'll have access to a pain remedy that works well immediately for even agonized chemo patients and glaucoma patients suffering severe eye pain and headaches.

(4) Turmeric/curcumin is without controversy or legal issues. Turmeric's active ingredient, curcumin, taken properly will offer faster pain relief from inflammation than turmeric alone.

High dose curcumin enteric coated capsules with piperine, black pepper's active ingredient that increases nutrient absorption, are excellent for getting past the stomach intact. Enteric coating protects capsules from deteriorating in the early stomach phase of digestion, allowing the ingredients to get into the lower intestines intact.

Or you can empty a regular capsule of curcumin with piperine into a spoonful of good coconut or olive oil and ingest that. If it lacks piperine, add black pepper.

(5) Arnica with DMSO combines a homeopathic topical cream with DMSO as an adjunct to give fast pain relief from injury, arthritis, or sciatica. Adding DMSO speeds and deepens arnica's topically applied efficacy while adding some of its own pain and inflammatory relief.

Louise Theberge Gets Her Well Deserved Vacation - Window Weather Forcast

Open Letter to the Citizens of Gloucester County Virginia

Thank you Gloucester County for voting during the June Primary Election.

Those who voted show they support the system of government we have in Virginia and the US.  It is our responsibility to get out and vote.  There were winners and losers in these primary elections but the voters won by makings the system work.  Those voting in the Republican primary you voted to give Ms. Theberge a well earned vacation after 14 years of dedicated service.  Those voting on the Democratic Primary you voted for who you think will best serve us if elected to office.  My focus has been on our local government and I have not looked at the state level positions yet.  Whoever we vote for should support the Virginia Constitution as written since their oath of office is to support and uphold the constitution and the Bill of Rights in its entirety.  They need to be for small government and decreasing our tax burden.  Do the candidates do this?  We have time to learn their positions between now and the first of November.

We have two people on the ballet for Gloucester County At Large Supervisor as well as those running for individual districts; we have time for them to present us their position to ensure we get one that will follow the constitution, keep our taxes and dept down and bring the county code into compliance with the Virginia Code and Constitution.

Following the Virginia Constitution is a lot of work if we want to stay Citizens and not become serfs.  Keep up the work we have started we are well on our way.

Candidates for local and state office the blog site this letter is published on will publish your position and unlike newspapers there is no cost to you.  This is what you stand for and what you will do if elected to office.  He does not look for you to provide dirt against the other candidates.

“For the Common Good. “

Sincerely,
Alexander James Jay

AND NOW FOR OUR WINDOW WEATHER FORECAST;

Overcast, wet and windy with a chance of more to come sometime soon.

Gloucester Local News Updates - June 12th, 2013 - Theberge defeated by Meyer in vote

GLOUCESTER — The School Board will consider at its June 25 work session whether to redistrict 32 students who live in neighborhoods along Indian Road from Botetourt to Petsworth elementary schools.
The proposal is designed to lighten the enrollment at Botetourt Elementary School, which parents have complained is crowded.
But members of the School Board aren't so sure they want to send 16 fourth- and fifth-graders to another school — again. In 2009, a redistricting sent the students from Petsworth to Botetourt, and now they would be heading back.
The 32 students live in neighborhoods on Indian Road between Figg Shop and Harcum roads, said Gloucester Assistant Superintendent John Hutchinson. The travel time for the students would be about the same, he said.
School Board member Anita Parker said she lives in the area and won't support the redistricting because it's a hardship on families.
"I don't think this amount of children will make enough of a difference because they are split up into enough grade levels," Parker said. "I cannot support moving any of these children back to Petsworth once again."
The proposal would move three kindergartners, four first-graders, three second-graders, six third-graders, six fourth-graders and 10 fifth-graders, according to school documents.
School Board Member Carla Hook said the fourth- and fifth-graders would be attending their third school and is concerned about that. Elementary school students shouldn't be forced to go to more than two schools, she said.
Chairman Randy Burak said the fifth-graders comprise one-third of the group and would move to middle school after one year.

Theberge defeated by Meyer in vote

GLOUCESTER — Political newcomer John C. Meyer Jr. soundly defeated incumbent Louise Theberge in Tuesday's Republican Party primary, setting up a race against another political newcomer in November for a seat on the Board of Supervisors.
Meyer received 1,089 votes, or 59 percent, to the 762 votes tallied for Theberge, or 41 percent, according to results from the Gloucester County Voter Registrar's Office. Meyer, who moved to Gloucester in 2005, will take on W. Grant Keller in November for the At-Large seat on the Board of Supervisors to be vacated by Theberge.
With the pending departure of Theberge, as well as the departures of Petsworth Supervisor John Northstein and York Supervisor Carter Borden, the Board of Supervisors will not have a member with more than one term of experience when it's seated at its first meeting in January 2014.
The only caveat to that is if former Supervisor Graham C. Blake, who served in the 1990s and through 2003, wins election in November in a three-way race in the York District. Other candidates in that race include political newcomers Marcia J. Mickle and Phillip N. Bazzani.
In the Petsworth District, Michael R. Winebarger faces Michael D. Jenkins.
The School Board races all have single candidates to include:
•Charles B. Records in the At-Large District;
•Incumbent Carla B. Hook in the York District;
•Incumbent Anita F. Parker in the Petsworth District;
•Incumbent Troy M. Andersen in the Gloucester Point District. Andersen is seeking to fill an unexpired term through Dec. 31, 2015.

Our congratulations to John Meyer on his recent win.  The people really do want limited government that is responsible to the people and responsive.

GOP defeats open two chairmanships in House of Delegates - Richmond Times Dispatch

The defeat of two veteran Republican delegates in Tuesday’s primary opened more committee chairmanships in the House of Delegates and fanned debate about the impact of this year’s historic transportation funding vote.
Both Del. Joe T. May, R-Loudoun, and Beverly J. Sherwood, R-Frederick, supported the transportation funding overhaul that passed in this year’s General Assembly session, a landmark infusion of cash into the state’s beleaguered roads fund.
Many conservatives were displeased with the tax increases in the bill, which is expected to raise about $3.4 billion statewide over five years and an additional $2.5 billion in Northern Virginia and Hampton Roads.
On the heels of Tuesday’s results, Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform said May’s defeat “can be directly attributed to his vote for Speaker Bill Howell's misguided $6 billion tax hike.”
Of the 34 Republicans -- and one Independent who caucuses with Republicans -- in the House who supported the transportation measure, four faced primary challenges and two were defeated. Del. C. Todd Gilbert, R-Shenandoah, beat a primary challenger but Gilbert did not support the transportation plan.
Del. Robert D. Orrock Sr., R-Caroline, and House Speaker William J. Howell, R-Stafford, both survived primary challenges – and Howell sponsored the transportation legislation.
Howell noted that May and Sherwood had each served for about 20 years and had taken thousands of votes.
“Two people losing out of 35, I think it’s hard to say that the transportation bill was a sole factor or even a primary factor,” he said. “I think in both Joe and Bev’s races there were a lot of other things that took place.”
Sherwood lost to retired physician Mark J. Berg and May lost to general contractor Dave A. LaRock.
The losses will also mean a greater shifting of committee chairmanships, as May chaired Transportation Committee and Sherwood chaired House Agriculture, Chesapeake and Natural Resources.
