CHOP's statements are quite contradictory when it comes to "choices." The way I see it, they seem to be "for" choice if it can do you harm and turn you into a patient, but "against" choice when it might end your reliance on their services. Judging from the comments made in defense of McDonald's at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) in 2011. CHOP had decided to close down the McDonald's franchise in its premises—not because the food is unhealthy, but because they needed the space. Chad Hough, the hospital's senior vice president for clinical support services told Philly.com: "I think our job is not only to provide healthy foods. It's about variety and giving people choices and giving people information and educating them so they can make good choices."
