Gloucester, VA - Readers Respond To Video Posting

Readers respond to video of local business man being interrupted during his talk to the Gloucester County Board of Supervisors.

"This gentleman gets interrupted by someone on the Board of Supervisors at only 59 seconds into his talk. He's supposed to have 10 minutes. He is 94 years old.

 I'm retired military and I respect and love my county. And I respect my elders. This is a damn shame that somebody obviously has no respect for her elders."



This is the video our reader is responding to and it was Louise Theberge, Chair person of the Board of Supervisors, who interrupted this gentleman while he was trying to make a point to the Board of Supervisors.  We thank our responder for their time and service to our country.

Gloucester, VA Man Arrested In 7-Eleven Robbery

GLOUCESTER — A Gloucester man was arrested early Monday morning following an armed robbery at a 7-Eleven in the Wicomico area.

A clerk called the Gloucester Sheriff's Office at about 12:30 a.m. Monday to say that a man armed with a handgun and with distinctive large black eye glasses and wearing a black hooded jacket, black pants and gloves and with a red bandanna covering the lower portion of his face entered the store and demanded money, said Maj. Ryan Cookson. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled the store on foot, Cookson said.

Within two hours investigators arrested Stephen Thomas Reaves, of the 2400 block of Winfred Road.

Gloucester, VA Pet Shop Post Update And Corrections

Sometimes the issues in this business is that you receive what is considered reliable information that can not always be denied or confirmed by normal means.  You depend on those reporting information to you to be first hand account and you put a certain amount of trust into those who give you information.

  From time to time you later learn that the information was not at all reliable.  Under TTC Media, it is our policy to post a correction to information when we learn of a breach in our sources.

We recently learned of such a breach.  We did a report some months ago about a local large pet shop possibly receiving exotic animals from Animal Control.  The story was part of a fictional story.  We recently had a question about that so we had to go back to our source who reported the information to us as initially having first hand knowledge of such.  When we dug tonight for further information from that source, it came back as being something they were told and did not in fact have first hand knowledge of such.  This makes the information third party and tainted, hence unreliable.

  Because of this, we are posting this to clear this local pet shop of any possible questionable activity found in the fictional story and are dropping that source from our reliable list for good.  The post did not name the real name of the business but did put the business in an unfavorable light.  Please disregard that section of the post regarding the pet shop business.  That story was fictional that was posted, but was based on a certain amount of real world information.

Gloucester, VA Local Readers Mad As Hell At County

Readers Respond:  Here is a letter we just recently received by another concerned citizen.

"I have read your stories with great interest along with the local paper.

 

The paper tells us our taxes are going up and not until we read your blog do we find out it is to pay for pet projects wanted by the members of the Board of Supervisors that vote in favor of their pet projects.  Do they not know we are in a recession?

 

These tax and spend people are as bad as the people in Washington, we do not have a spending problem we have an income problem.  People are having to tighten their belts to make ends meet and the fiscal irresponsible people voting to make these changes do not care.  We just get to hold the money we work hard to earn until the tax and spend government wants it from us.  Our Gloucester County Chair person states she listens to the people of Gloucester County.  She proved otherwise in the meeting where she voted to go along with the wishes of the downtown association.

 

  I was sorry to hear our Gloucester County chairperson was going to run again we need her to get out and to take the illegal laws she has pushed on the county with her.  A couple of examples:  the flags on used car lots, where is the state law to deny this?  Most of her pet laws have to do with animal control ordinances.

 

Gloucester County started the water and sewage projects to allow previously undevelopable lands on where the water table was causing systems to fail.  We have been taxed to pay for these improvements.  Now they want to tax us again if a line goes by their property and are trying to get support at the State level.  Go for our State Representatives to ignore them.   The board knew then if they told us the truth and would make everyone pay if it goes by your property it would have been turned down.  I know let the people that need the service pay for it.  Let the new developments that want lots too small to support wells and septic systems pay to bring it to their development.  Or you can get rid of all of animal control but one, required by state law, and pay for your other pet projects.

 

Another story I read with interest was the one on low paying jobs in Gloucester County.  I travel all over the state and starting pay for animal control is much higher in Gloucester than in some cities in the state.  Also if the pay was low there would be lots of turnover not people staying for life.  But when you allow employees to perform jobs and outside positions in conflict of interest of state laws and to be bribed, or the appearance of bribes, why would they leave?  The county likes to state how old it is, have they forgotten because of old age that our nation, commonwealth, and county governments are based on law and not mob rule?

 

Maybe you should pay attention to the words of the Pledge of Allegiance.  Consider reading the Constitution of the US and the Commonwealth of Virginia.

 

Please consider buying a current copy with updates of the Code of Virginia so Mr Wilmont will be able to keep up with the changes to the state code.

Points well given by this reader and we want to thank you for taking the time to respond to this site with your concerns.  All very valid.  Now if we can just get the county officials to understand that their actions do have consequences.  We can always dream can't we?

This business man has been doing business in Gloucester for nearly 65 years.  His contributions to the county are tough to match if they even can be.  He did not need to be interrupted during his discussion as it was very valid to the discussion.  He's upset with what it now takes to get anything done in the county government.  We agree with his points.  Do you think the Board of Supervisors even cared?  At his age and considering all of his contributions to the county, he deserves to spend as much time on the floor as he wants, talking about whatever he wants to talk about.  We could all learn from someone of his experience.

  Shame on Louise Theberge for interrupting him.

Gloucester, VA, County Attorney Ted Wilmot Lying To Board of Supervisors?

The above video clip is a behavioral analysis of Ted Wilmot during two Gloucester, VA Board of Supervisors meetings.  In our opinion he was lying on both clips, however, his actions on the second clip are more clear than they are on the first.  We took video clips from various You Tube posts that are experts in the field of detecting when people are lying and incorporated them in with clips from Gloucester County Board of Supervisor meeting video clips.

  The results speak for themselves and we suggest you make up your own mind on whether or not you think this man is lying to his bosses.  What we do know.  In the first clip, Ted Wilmot says that he and Animal Control were on top of changes to state law and county ordinances well before we started our complaints on the ordinances being in violation of state law.  In the second clip, Mr Wilmot dropped that argument.  What we had pointed out to Mr Wilmot is that his proposed changes to section 3-15 that were published on January 2nd, for that first clip meeting, were still in violation of state law.  After we pointed that out, the county had published the changes and they are all found on this site.

  So he did have to change the January 2nd, Animal Control ordinances proposal  per part of our suggestions to meet state law requirements.  That's how we knew he was lying in the second clip.  We have a copy of the original proposal and it's on this site and we have the changed proposal on this site as well.

  But lets go even further.  The state laws changed back in 2011.  Why did both Animal Control and Ted Wilmot wait until 2013 to play catch up?  Let's make it worse.  We have already shown on this site that the new ordinances still have violations to state laws.  That means Mr Wilmot is lying down on the job of protecting the county.

  Just when you think we are done.  Mr Wilmot prosecuted a woman in a Gloucester Court with a supposed violation to section 3-15 which is the ordinance that was being changed because it was in violation of state laws, only a few days after this meeting.  He knew he was prosecuting a person with an ordinance that was not valid.  Still more.  The judge for the case, went along with the prosecution filing misdemeanor charges, court costs and penalties.  They are still forcing this woman to pay those fees for an ordinance violation that in itself was a violation of state law.

  Welcome to the new wild wild west.

Spinning The Trilateral Secret Government of Gloucester, VA

If we were asked to spin a story on the Trilateral secret government of Gloucester, how would we do it?  First we would belittle the notion that there was any such thing and that it is all the crazy idea of a local deranged person.  We would talk about all the positive works that the three groups under the Trilateral secret government have done for the county.

  We would say that we were opening up all the books and records to public inspection for anyone to take a look at as there is nothing to hide.  We would spin the concept of Gloucester County Officials being on the boards of these 3 non profit private enterprises has only been a positive thing.  (Even though it is considered a violation of law as we know it).  We would also point out that these organizations and the county share common goals.  We would deny and wrong doing and that any secret meetings or back room deals have ever happened or would ever happen.

  That is how we would spin this.  It would be with a lot of news stories on all the wonderful things, events, ideas, and past successes that have made Gloucester County a better place.  We do not deny that the three organizations have made positive contributions to the community.  The real problems exist in the closed secret meetings that of course they would deny but are required to have.  You do not have open public board meetings for private entities.

  There is no way to prove that secret back room deals have not been made.  It is very clear that the county is promoting the agenda of these three organizations.  A clear violation of the public trust and a very serious threat to the entire county. That's the spin.  How would you spin it?
