You can download a copy of the new programming guide from our SlideShare site.  Just click on the link above to go to the site for the download.  This will give the site a very consistent look and feel.  You know what to expect each and every day and week.  In the future, we will change some of the classic TV shows and may add or remove certain features, when this happens, we will make the proper changes to the programming guide so that everyone can stay up with the new changes.  We hope everyone enjoys these new features.

Louise Theberge's Vacation Plans - Vote John C Meyer On June 11th, 2013.

Open Letter to the Citizens of Gloucester County Virginia

Thank you Gloucester County for the support and encouragement you have provided me and this site.

The Virginia Constitution was written by men from all walks of life that wanted us to not live under the rule of an unjust government.  Have you ever read the Constitution of the United States?  How about the Constitution of Virginia?

Article 1 Section 5.  No Separation of legislative, executive, and judicial departments; periodical elections.  The legislative, executive, and judicial departments should be separate and distinct and that the members should, at fixed periods, be reduced to a private station, return into that body from which they were originally taken, and the vacancies be supplied by regular elections.

The founders of the Virginia government knew the burden of government could be over powering and to protect the people called to serve we should send them home by electing others so they can rest.  They did not set terms for all positions since everyone is different for the amount of time they can serve.

We have two supervisors that have served one term, and decided they need a break.  One of our at large supervisors has served for 14 years this is a long time to be in any position without a break.  Louise Theberge has served Gloucester tirelessly for a long time.  She has many other interest as has been pointed out in the newspaper such as the Boys and Girls Club, Gloucester Main Street Association, and she is a business person.  Based on these many interests it appears Ms. Theberge  may need to consider a break from service to get some rest, spend time with her family, and pursue other interest.  Or we should consider giving her a vacation by voting for John C. “Jace” Meyer on Tuesday June 11, 2013.

Following the direction spelled out in the Virginia Constitution should be done by all of us so we stay Citizens and do not become serfs.  Being a citizen requires work on our part to ensure we get the government we deserve and want.

“For the Common Good. “

Sincerely,
Alexander James Jay

Government Employees Work For The People - Not Themselves

Open Letter to the Citizens of Gloucester County Virginia,

The Virginia Constitution was written by men from all walks of life that wanted us to not live under the rule of an unjust government.  Have you ever read the Constitution of the United States?  How about the Constitution of Virginia?

Article 1 Section 4. No exclusive emoluments or privileges; offices not to be hereditary.  This is important.  There are no privileges granted to public servants elected or otherwise and unlike Great Britain the titles do not pass to the heirs of the office holder.

The government employees, elected, appointed, and hired work for us and are not entitled to special privilege.  No special cars and using government vehicles for personal business; having to obey the laws the same as you and me in our daily life.  We have to work hard for what we have why should these few civil servants be allowed to abuse their authority and take something that is not theirs?  As I have stated and will continue to state most of these civil servants are honest and I do not have any problem with them it is the few that think they are above the law and do not have to follow the same rules as the rest of us.

It is time we hold our public servants to the standards and rules we all have to follow, no special treatment.  This does not mean we should not be polite to them.  We should be polite to them as we should to each other and they should be polite to us also.  If you see them abusing their public obligation it should be documented and reported.  As I have stated and know there are some offices that hold grudges; report the offences to this blog site where the offences can be reported publicly so they cannot hide the offence and pretend it do not happen.

To be a citizen of the US and Virginia requires an obligation on your part to hold these public official to high standards.  Failing to perform your duties allows them to do as they please.  As the saying goes power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.  If you are not willing to stand up and be a citizen then you deserve the government you get.  You can be a citizen or a serf.  The choice is up to you.  Our founding fathers worked hard to establish our freedoms we should be willing to do our part to keep them.

Those that are elected that do not follow the rules should be passed over and not reelected to office.  Can you think of a better way to show our dissatisfaction with them?

Working to keep our government honest ensures we do not have to pay taxes above and beyond what is necessary for the government to provide our essential services.  Given the economy is in the condition it is in, I would like to keep as much of my pay check as possible to support my family.  “For the Common Good. “

Sincerely,
Alexander James Jay

P.S. I am not a lawyer so I am not giving you a legal definition but what these writings mean to me.

As always, Alexander has a most passionate way of putting things into perspective.
