Liberty's Kids 16, One Life to Lose - Battle of the Hook Pre Show

Liberty's Kids episode number 16, One Life to Lose.  These are the events that occurred and led to the Battle of the Hook in Gloucester, Virginia which was part of the battle strategy for the siege of Yorktown, Virginia where we won the major victory of the American Revolution.  In October there is a commemorative American Revolution re enactment that will be held in Gloucester, Virginia.  We are doing everything in our power to promote this event.  It is shaping up well above even our own expectations of what the event will recreate for period surroundings and engagement.

The planning committee has done one of the most outstanding jobs we have seen in producing this event and are all to be commended for their efforts.  We will be showing just how extensive a job they have been doing soon.  In the mean time, we will show you how to get to this event.

Gloucester, Virginia Crier, Battle of the Hook Directions from Chuck Thompson

Look up your directions on Google maps and print them out early and place them where you will find them when the time to come to the event is at hand.

Here is a new promo video that is well done.  (Just wish the rider was crying that the British were coming, but that was Paul Revere so I understand why it was not done).

Liberty's Kids 13, The First Fourth of July, Battle of the Hook Pre Show

The First Fourth of July, episode 13 in the Liberty's kids video series.  These are the events that led up to the Battle of the Hook that took place just before the siege of Yorktown, Virginia and was a part of that plan.  We initially started running the Liberty's Kids series on the 4th of July of this year, 2013.  We noticed a very serious lack of education many people in our own nation have about our history.  Since then we have been on a mission to try and fill that gap missing in so many people today.

People outside our country had a better knowledge of our history than many of our own citizens.

The Pre Show.  Coming in October is an event that should not be missed by anyone who can break away for a weekend and travel.  The Battle of the Hook is an American Revolutionary war re enactment to be held here in Gloucester, Virginia.  Details are below.

Liberty's Kids 11, Washington Takes Command - Battle of the Hook Pre Show

Washington Takes Command is episode number 11 for Liberty's Kids.  These are the events that led up to the Battle of the Hook that happened only days before the victory in Yorktown, Virginia.  The Battle of the Hook was part of the strategy of Washington and allies to cut off all escape routes for Lord Cornwallis.  Gloucester, Virginia is just across the river from Yorktown and was part of Lord Cornwallis plans for an emergency escape.

After the British surrendered in Yorktown, they then surrendered in Gloucester, Virginia.  The history books seem to overlook this fact.  In celebration of the Battle of the Hook, there is a major reenactment coming to Gloucester here very soon which is why we are calling the Liberty's Kids videos here a pre show.

Liberty's Kids 10, Postmaster General Franklin - Battle of the Hook Pre Show

Liberty's Kids episode number 10, Postmaster General Franklin.  Gives you a great idea of the events that led up to the final victory in Yorktown, Virginia.  Just before that final battle and very much a part of it was the Battle of the Hook that took place in Gloucester, Virginia.  It was part of the strategy of General George Washington to surround Lord Cornwallis at Yorktown.  Gloucester, Virginia is just across the river from Yorktown.  The Battle of the Hook was a part of cutting off and surrounding the enemy.

That is why the Battle of the Hook is such a big deal.  The upcoming reenactment battle is very much a part of the celebration of our freedoms, liberty and independence and remembering what our forefathers did for us all.
